If you feel confident that you know the plot of the myth of Kallisto, you might want to reconsider your thoughts; for each variation of the myth has significant differences to the others. In fact, you might find yourself doubting even about the basic info you thought you knew about her!

In particular, you shall see that not every source presents Kallisto as the daughter of Lykaon, while a Tegean source calls her Megisto instead of Kallisto. Moreover, I will explain why the effort to summarise this particular myth can be tricky, should we wish to remain unbiased between the survived variations.
